It's all wrong

Let's think about this...

Society, in the majority, has demanded that men act accordingly to the 'standards' set in order to 'get the girl'. Most guys, and in my experience girls as well, will tell guys...be a jerk. It's the way to get the girl. Don't pay attention to them, don't seem like you care...it is the thrill of the chase. Even if these things are outside his character...which leads me to my next concern.
A guy will act accordingly, as most of society demands, and will get the girl. Congradulations on a job well done...now you have to keep that up in order to keep her. There is your problem! Eventually people get exhausted being who they aren't and begin to be who they are. This creates confusion and frustration for the other party involved because they wonder...'what happened to the person I started this with?' Thus beginning the fights and irritating situations/conversations.
The 'nice guys',the guys who give a damn and will do their best to see you get the things you need/desire are the ones looked straight through. In the midst of the frustrating involvements almost any girl will tell you with tears welling that they wish they could find a nice guy. But when they have that option...VERY few take it. So what do we do?
Do we sacrifice our desire to actually be a supportive part of someone's life or give in to societies rediculous portrayal of what a 'real man' should be?
Not saying that we should be overbearing/clingy/or obsessed...people need their space/independence and most of all freedom, but everybody needs somebody they know will care for them and be there...no matter what.

  1. I totally agree with this......society has absolutely screwed up the enjoyment of finding the person that you could spend the rest of your life with. I think that people should be themselves and if others cannot accept them for who they truly are then they are not worth your time.

  2. I'm left with a complete lack of comment. Now, this is a good thing, because anything I would have to say, you've already covered. So in an attempt to avoid repeating something already covered, let me express that I agree 110% with the simple statement of "ditto".
