Christmas Eve

WARNING *I might ramble about a bit*
Christmas has been perverted!
I have not spoken to a single soul who admits to being in the Christmas 'Spirit' at all this season! Why? Well...let's talk about it.
Media and society has created a competition out of the Christmas season. GET THE BEST DEALS! DECORATE YOUR HOUSE BETTER THAN YOUR NEIGHBOR! BUY THE BEST GIFTS! COOK ALL THE FOOD! STRESS YOURSELF OUT so we can make MONEY!
Everybody enjoys the scene of the peaceful family sitting by the fire with snow falling and music in the background just hanging out and enjoying each other. BUT nobody does that.
We would rather send the kids to the room so we don't have to deal with them, watch 'the biggest loser' or whatever it is people watch nowadays, and gripe about worthless meaningless things that we can't change!
Generally, NOBODY reaches out anymore and does nice things, buying nice gifts has become doing that 'nice thing' for someone else and it is ridiculous.
FOR THOSE WHO DO...you usually get recognized by the local newspaper or on the news so congratulations you just did the least self-less act ever! You know you were all surrounded by the TV or bought 3-4 newspapers and felt proud because you were recognized.
I however...am in the Christmas spirit and sincerely hope that all of you have a safe and wonderful holiday, because regardless of how 'jacked up' society has made this season, when tomorrow comes around...it all comes back to where it is supposed to be. Probably because most of the stores are closed...lol.
